Day Seven

Day 07 — A photo that makes you happy

This is me and my five best mates, taken at our Leaver's Dinner this year. This photo is great, as it really reflects our great friendship and has an element of all of us in it.
Man, I love the Original Six. Rock on boys.

Had my Art History exam today, I don't think it went terribly bad. I didn't sit the style paper, as it's not my strong point anyway and the questions were really unkind to what I did know on style. Other than that, more pressure to move in, still don't have a job...

Day Six

Day 06 — Whatever tickles your fancy

Whatever tickles my fancy? What is that supposed to mean? ZZZzzzzzz

Well, right now, not studying is what tickles my fancy. Been on study week for a week and a half, and I've not studied at all, first exam in two days. I have some strange idea that I'm not going to find Art History too hard, goodness me knows why.

I spent the last week and a half replaying a game, on two difficulty levels to unlock a character I really wanted. Finally beat the game on Extreme Mode today, unlocked the character and.... He sucks, he's boring, he's nothing like he should be, major disappointment.

Day Five

Day 05 — Your favorite quote

"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams." -  Eleanor Roosevelt

I love this quote, it inspires me to follow my own dreams, not the dreams other people make for me. It speaks to me of following your own heart and making your life what you want it to be.

Life - Been pretty good lately, had a good night at WAM with the westies, pretty good night at youth on Friday before that. Good cricket game. Yeah, pretty stoked with my weekend.

Day Four

Day 04 — Your favorite book

I really really love reading, I love books. It's great to escape reality sometimes, to imagine yourself as the hero, or to imagine what AU's could be like.

But my FAVOURITE book? Well, that's almost too hard to say, so I won't.
But recently, it would have to be, Cursor's Fury by Jim Butcher.

Third book in The Codex Alera, it's a wonderful series and this book is just so full of action, packed with a great tale of desperation, love and determination. Loved it to pieces.

Day 03

Day 03 — Your favorite television program
Oh man, it's really hard to decide on just one program, so here's some of my favorites:

-Scrubs
-How I Met Your Mother
-Family Guy
-Two and A Half Men
-Chuck
-Big Bang Theory
-Glee
-7 Days

Today has been one of the more uneventful days of my life. A holidays-type day. Sat in my room, on the PS2...

Day 02

Day 02 — Your favorite movie

My favorite movie? Ooh that's difficult. It's between Inside Man and Hot Fuzz. Inside man is really really good. It's just a genius plan for a bank robbery, and the criminal has alot more than money in mind. It's a great movie with Clive Owen and Denzel Washington (I think?) in it.

Hot Fuzz... It's bloody hilarious. I've seen it at least 7 times, it still cracks me up. Plus it's about cops, and I love cops.

Life today: Was average, spent hours trying to find a job, no real luck. Did some minor Art History study, played on PS2 a bit. Pretty boring tbh.

30 Days of Me

30 Days of Me

I'm going to start the 30 Days of Me blog challenge. Why?
Well, because Kelsey was doing it too... but yeah!
Day 01 — Your favorite song.

Right now? I would have to say House on a Hill - Kamelot.

Why? Because it's such a beautiful song. It's romantic, it's unique, it mixes music genres to tell a story of love. The lyrics are powerful, the melody enchanting. The singing duo are incredibly skilled. I just can't get enough of this song.

The next hurdle.

Well, it's all over now.

Had an amazing last day of school, absolutely fantastic. Leavers dinner was great, lots of photos!
Stayed at Ant's place for two days, was great to spend those days with him, and Paul for majority of it.

I feel sad, for many reasons, but I'm also excited. I can't let the joys of the past get me down now, there's just no time for it, and it would get me nowhere.

Exams will have come and gone within 3 weeks, better get cracking. Need to desperately find a job, getting a lot of pressure about moving out.

Rest of my friends are lucky, they have exams, then 3 months of bliss. Time waits for no man, especially me it seems.

Righto real world, here I come.

Shining light at the end of the tunnel.

My final day of school looms.

It's 7:57pm, 3rd November 2010. In almost exactly twelve hours, I'll step off my train do my bro-hug with my best friend Connor, and set forth towards our final ever day of high school.

It's been one hell of a journey, and I can't say I remember the Benjamin Upton who first walked into MAGS five years ago. But what I do know, is the Benjamin Upton who is going to leave it tomorrow, is someone who understands himself. The last five years in my life, I've had numerous subjects, countless lessons, but the thing I've most enjoyed learning about was me. Who I am, who I am to others, who I can be and also who I should have been.

I'm excited to be going out into the real world, to being my own independent person. But I'm also incredibly saddened. I'm going to miss "The Original Six", my closest mates. I'm going to miss a few teachers, Mr. Gibbs especially. I'm going to miss the interaction of ideas and views from a year group that consists of people from every part of the social spectrum. But what will I miss most? The times we laughed. The times where everything didn't seemed to matter and we just rocked back on our chairs and laughed, the pure joy of those moments, I will never ever forget.

Well, Leavers Dinner tomorrow, then a massive guy fawkes with my best mates the next day.

Can't wait :D
